  I do not recommend ever taking his class. Unfortunately he does not explain well. During class, he will pick some random archaic math problem to go over very detailed for 30 minutes and he will rush through some other random steps without letting people understand. When people ask questions, he can get angry sometimes and ask "why didnt you know"

  Avoid this class if possible. The exams are brutally difficult, with barely enough time and little relation to the practice material. However, the lectures are engaging, and unstuckstudy ai can be a helpful study tool. Just be prepared for a challenging grading system.

  will not relent to give you a zero for any errors on questions, barely enough time for exams, and doesn't post any practice questions. Exam difficulty is incomparable to practice material; only a few questions to cover whole units and barely any time.

  Worst professor. When asked questions, he is either dismissive or visibly annoyed, providing vague or unhelpful answers. His grading is excessively harsh and inconsistent, with little to no feedback given on tests. His teaching methods and lack of engagement make the class unbearable. Avoid at all costs.

  He is the worst professor I have ever had. He is not good at teaching badly, his lecture notes are not helpful. The exam's difficulty level is way harder than his teaching, and he's not kind when the students ask questions they don't understand. I wonder how he's taught math at Langara for over 10 years. He doesn't deserve to teach students.

  Good: engaging lectures, quiz/exam difficulty isn't badAwful: marking on T/F or proofs is overly difficult (if you seem to understand the concepts he may dock you 20% of the total exam mark or the whole question arbitrarily), heavily proof weighted, time constrained, impossible question on a quiz (typo) removed it and gave no points. 30% mt avg.

  Wears a mask and every other word is an "uh" or an "um" making it very hard to listen, doesn't talk loudly either so good luck if you sit at the back. His lectures rarely have examples so reading the textbook or watching videos would be better (it's a math class, you need numerical examples to understand). A rock could teach better than him. Avoid.

  Jang is one of the few math profs in Langara who enjoys teaching math. The ratings are not a clear representation of him. Although, he comes of a bit scary in the beginning, the way he approaches math is very practical. He will tell you exactly what you need to study in order to do well in the course. Follow exactly what he says to do well in class

  If you like math, like GENUINELY actually like math, then he will be a good instructor for you.Otherwise, if you're taking the course because it's a prerequisite / required course, this professor may not be the best as he grades hard and you will have to understand the material taught, rather than BSing everything lol

  The class I took was very hostile. Jang would frequently raise his voice, point his finger, and belittle students even for something as little as mishearing which definition he wanted and saying a different one. Very uncomfortable, high anxiety class which made it hard to attend lectures with an anxiety disorder. Only definitions, no concept work.

  Jae is kind of a funny guy. Your mark is based solely on 3 exams and a couple of quizzes, mess up one exam and it's hard to recover. Pretty much all content has to be self-taught as lectures hold little useful information as he teaches the weirdest, incomprehensible methods to solve problems. Stay away if you can.
